The club is lucky to have a wealth of knowledge and experience from its head coaches as shown below. Each head coach is supported by a minimum of 1 assistant. All of our coaches have gained the nesessery swim england qualifications to ensure all players are offered the best level of coaching possible. 

 

Tim - Womens head coach. 

Tim has been involved in water polo since his teenage years. He first began coaching Hucknall 30 years ago before gaining a full time coaching job with City of Manchester. He has been the head coach of multiple GB teams over the last 25 years winning gold coaching the senior men's England team at the EU nations and achieving 8th place at the world university games with GBs mens team. This has also included teams of all age groups and both male and female teams. He was assistant coach to the senior men's squad prior to the 2012 Olympics. Most recently he has been coaching the GB junior squad 2022- 2024 and is currently GB senior mens head coach. He is head coach of the women's programme at Hucknall as well as The University of Nottingham and has led both teams to the most successful seasons in history over recent years.

 

Sarah - Juniors head coach. 

Having been involved in water polo for around 30 years Sarah has gained a wealth of knowledge and experience. She was programme manager for both men's and women's teams prior to the 2012 Olympics. During this time she team managed multiple GB squads then turned her hand to coaching. More recently Sarah was the head coach of the GB junior women's team 2019, and assistant coach to the men's GB junior team 2022-2024. She has also been integral in the development of Swim England's current water polo coaching courses with coach development an important part of her role with in the club. Currently assistant coach to the Hucknall women's program and head coach of the junior programme as well as head coach at Nottingham Trent University.

 

Tom - Mens head coach.

Tom has been involved with the sport for approximately 25 years. As an exceptional goal keeper during his playing career with several appearances playing for England and as part of the GB squad. Tom runs goal keeper specific training sessions within the club. This is a unique opportunity for players to be taught the skills necessary to thrive in this technically demanding position. Tom has recent;y coached the boys GB junior squad and is head coach of the Hucknall mens program.
